We currently have two main rides but in total we own 4 mountain bikes.
We started out with GT full suspension bikes that we thought were pretty awesome. The only problem was that the geometry for mine was such that I regularly got tossed over the handle bars. It seems that the distance from the front axle to the rear axle is crucial. To short and your wheel base is not long enough.
Next ride was two Specialized Stump Jumpers. We like them and keep them on Martha’s Vineyard for the flatter cross country riding we do.
Finally we upgraded to all carbon frames and much better components.

I have one also but with the 27.5″ Wheels
Excellent stability and easy to ride over most anything. Downside is that it is a bit slower. That’s OK – arrive alive.
And very much more technical
